Business sponsorship
terms and conditions

1. Applicability

   1. These terms and conditions apply to any business or organisation entering into an agreement to sponsor Friends of Goit Stock Wood. They are supplementary to the details of the sponsorship packages and pricing described on our website at Business sponsorship.

2. Benefits

   1. Sponsorship benefits may vary from time to time. Those that apply to our agreement are those listed on our website on the date that you apply for sponsorship.

   2. Please contact us if you wish to discuss any bespoke arrangement.

3. Pricing

   1. Prices may vary from time to time. Those that apply to our agreement are those listed on our website on the date that you apply for sponsorship.

   2. 50% discount on Rowan and Birch packages is available for small local businesses, defined as businesses with 5 or fewer full-time equivalent staff and only one location, which is in BD13, BD15, BD16, BD17, BD18, BD20, BD21 or BD22 postcode areas. Our Trustees’ discretion is final when determining eligibility for this offer.

4. Acceptance and payment

   1. We accept sponsorship from most businesses and organisations, though our Trustees reserve the right to decline sponsorship for certain organisations that we feel are not in keeping with our values or are not suitable for a family-friendly audience.

   2. We will contact you to confirm if we are able to accept your sponsorship, and at this point we will send you an invoice for the sponsorship amount.

   3. Sponsorship payments are to be made by direct bank transfer, to our account as detailed on the invoice.

   4. Invoices are to be paid within 14 days of issue.

   5. The first year’s sponsor payments will be treated as unrestricted funds for the charity; if we are not successful in the purchase of Goit Stock Wood we will use these to support any of our charitable purposes. 

   6. If you buy a 2-year sponsorship paid upfront, we will treat the difference between the 1-year and 2-year fee as a restricted donation and offer to refund it should the agreement be terminated as described in clause 6.2.

5. Validity period

   1. Sponsorships become active on receipt of payment and we will aim to add your details to our website within 10 days of receipt of payment. 

   2. Sponsorships expire on the last day of the month 1 or 2 years after receipt of payment, e.g. a sponsorship that starts on 8 March will expire on 31 March the following year for a 1 year sponsorship. 

   3. Once your selected sponsorship period expires, if we have been successful in buying the wood, we may contact you to invite you to renew your sponsorship. New rates or sponsorship packages may apply at that time. If you choose not to renew, we will remove your logo/text from our website and you will not be mentioned in any further emails.

6. Termination

   1. You can contact us if you wish to terminate your sponsorship at any time. Refunds will not be given if you terminate but we will remove your logo/text from our website and you will not be mentioned in any further emails.

   2. The first year’s sponsorship fee is not refundable. Should we not be successful in purchasing the wood by the end of the first year of sponsorship, and you have pre-paid for a 2 year sponsorship, we will contact you to give you the option of terminating your sponsorship and having the difference between the 1 year price and the 2 year price refunded.

   3. We reserve the right to terminate your sponsorship at any time if, in the view of our Trustees, there is a development which means that maintaining a link with your organisation could potentially bring our organisation into disrepute. Our Trustees may or may not decide to refund your sponsor fees in such a case, at their discretion.

   4. The agreement will automatically terminate if we do not receive payment within 14 days of the invoice date. Should your organisation need more time to pay, please email support@goitstock.org.uk to request an extension.

7. Publicity

   1. Your text/logo on our website may link to your own company website, or a similar web page linked to your organisation (e.g. social media page or Google Maps listing). We will not link to pages or use logos that our Trustees deem unsuitable for our audience and we reserve the right to review and remove unsuitable links at any time.

   2. You may contact us if you wish to change/update your logo or link during the sponsorship period and we will aim to accommodate your request.

   3. Sponsors may use our name and logo on your own website, social media, press and publicity materials etc if you wish to promote your sponsorship, only during the period where your sponsorship is active. Please also provide a link to our website where possible. We will email you with a link to the right logo to use when we confirm your sponsorship. 

   4. In rare cases, our Trustees may request that you do not use our name or logo in support of certain activities. Should our Trustees request that you do not use, or discontinue use of our name or logo, you agree to abide by their decision and remove our logo from any publicity material as soon as possible (for online publicity, this must be done within 7 days)
