Here's what we've been working on this week...
Almost all houses in Harden, Wilsden and Cullingworth should now have received one of our leaflets, delivered by one of our amazing volunteers. These are really making a difference to our fundraising and reach people who haven't previously heard about us - we can see donations coming in from the areas we've leafleted.
We have nearly run out of our first batch of 5000 leaflets but we have another 5000 on the way, which we want to get out to homes in Bingley and Saltaire. If you would be able to deliver some leaflets in these areas within the next couple of weeks, please email amy@goitstock.org.uk. Thank you!
The kind people at Real Markets have given us a stall free of charge at Saltaire Farmer's Market, this Sunday (10 August) in Roberts Park, and at the new Darley Street Market in Bradford on 6 September. Again these are great opportunities to talk to new people about our project - and we'll be running our design-your-own badge activity for kids. Come along and say hello!
We have a couple of new volunteers, Laura and Kay, who joined us recently and are doing a fantastic job of planning our social media campaign. This week you may have seen our #dogsofgoitstock posts on Facebook and Instagram which are one of many ways we're trying to reach more people. Please follow us, share, comment and interact with our posts to help get the word out to as many people as possible. Please like our new Facebook Page and follow us on Instagram if you haven't already.
One of our other recent social media posts was a short video to highlight our Ceilidh (it's pronounced "kay lee"!) on 5 September in Bingley - and explain what a ceilidh is! Head to our website for more info and to buy your tickets!
We have successfully done a talk about our project to a local Soroptimist group, and we're booked in to speak to Shipley Rotary Club next week too. If you know of a group that would like to hear more about what we're doing, please let us know (contact@goitstock.org.uk).
Similarly, if you know of a venue that would be able to display a poster, give us a shout!
That's all for now. On Friday we'll share a bit more info about our new crowdfunding rewards (though if you can't wait until then, you can find the details on our website!)
Thanks for your support!
