Hello,
It’s been a while since we last contacted you, but we're still here!
What's been going on
Over the festive period we took a bit of a break, but last week our team met again to talk about the charity and our next steps.
We have been in touch with the vendors of the wood. They are still planning to sell the wood, and are keen to make sure that whoever buys the wood has the right intentions. They are supportive of us remaining as a community group who can work with whoever the eventual purchaser is to help protect the nature in the wood and make sure it can be enjoyed by the public for generations to come. We think this is very positive news, and we're patiently waiting to find out more!
We are looking at whether there are any smaller conservation projects we can start in the wood in the short term, and we'll let you know more as our plans develop.
Litter Pick - Saturday 21 February
We have always been keen to make sure that the wood is well looked after and one easy way we can do that is to clear up any litter that visitors may have left behind. We are planning to do a litter pick in the wood on Saturday 21 February (weather permitting!). If you'd like to join us, we'll be meeting at the bus stop at the end of Goit Stock Terrace in Harden at 10am (we should be done by 12:00). We'll bring bags and litter pickers - please come suitably dressed. If you bring children you remain responsible for supervising them!
Thank you for your support!
