For other ways to donate, please select one of the following options for more information.
This is called a “restricted donation” since the charity is restricted in what we can do with the money.
We can accept restricted donations, that we can only use to buy Goit Stock Wood, on the following basis:
You need to let us know that you want your donation to be a restricted donation by making that clear at the time you make the donation. That means using this donation form if you are donating as an individual or this form if you are donating on behalf of a business (or other organisation) - or stating this clearly in a covering letter if you send us a cheque. We'll keep a record of your name, contact details and donation amount.
If you make a restricted donation and we can't buy Goit Stock Wood, we'll contact you to offer you a refund of your donation. If you would like a refund, you'll need to give us your bank details (must be a UK account) so we can pay the money back to you.
We can only accept restricted donations of £60 or more. This is because we are a run by a small team of volunteers and we won't have the capacity to contact lots of donors of smaller amounts in order to offer refunds.
If you make a donation by credit/debit card, we will incur processing fees which we can't get back. So if we can't buy the wood and you ask for a refund of a donation made by card we'll deduct 2.5% from the amount we refund to you to cover this cost. If you want to avoid this happening, please make your payment by bank transfer instead.
If you would like to donate under £60, please consider making an unrestricted donation instead.
Our generous donors who can give £250 or more can become a Woodland Patron and - if we are successful with the purchase - will be recognised on a sign in the wood and receive a token of our appreciation. There are bigger rewards for those who give £2794 (equivalent of one acre of the wood) or more and become an Acre Angel. See more about our crowdfunding appeal.
Or, for a donation of £30, why not sponsor a square? You will receive a digital certificate and social media graphic as a token of our appreciation, and appear on our online list of supporters (optional).
If you are considering making a large donation (over £1000), we understand that you might not want to pay us the money upfront. Please contact us by email (contact@goitstock.org.uk) and we can send you an "Intention to Donate" pledge form. Although it not legally binding, this is a statement of your serious and genuine intention to support the appeal and will allow us to count on your pledge as part of our fundraising total. We will liaise with you to keep you updated on the progress of the appeal and the right time to make the donation.
If you would like to sponsor us please see our business sponsorship packages.
If you would like to make a straightforward donation on behalf of a business, please click here. We will issue you an invoice to be paid by bank transfer.
Please make cheques payable to Friends of Goit Stock Wood and post to: Friends of Goit Stock Wood, 22 Wilsden Road, Harden, Bingley BD16 1JN.
If you are donating £60 or more and you wish your donation to only be used to fund the purchase of Goit Stock Wood and refunded if that is not possible (a “restricted donation”), please let us know in a covering letter and include your name, address and contact phone number. Otherwise we will use the donation to fund any of our charitable activities. Please note that we cannot accept restricted donations under £60 (see above).
If you are a UK taxpayer, please consider making a Gift Aid declaration to increase the value of your donation by 25%. You can print a form from here and include that, or write the same information out on a covering letter. Alternatively, include an email address and we can email you to take a Gift Aid declaration by email.
If you include an email address, we'll email you to acknowledge receipt of your cheque, but we won't write back by post. We do really appreciate all donations, but we want to minimise our administrative and postage costs.
Online donations are cheaper for us to process and can be done any time that is convenient to you - but if you or someone you know can't use the website or don't want to donate online, we can accept card payments over the phone. Please call 01535 358101. Please be aware that we are volunteers and the phone won't always be answered immediately. If we don't answer please leave us a message and we will call you back as soon as possible.
We appreciate regular donations - although please note that we have a deadline of the end of September to raise the funds for our bid to purchase Goit Stock Wood, so any donations you can make before 12 September are appreciated.
Please complete this form. We will send you an invoice which includes our bank details and a reference number. Please use these to set up a Standing Order in your banking app, online banking or by contacting your bank. That way you are completely in control and if you ever want to stop or amend the donation, you can do so through your bank.
Yes, we can accept donations from outside the UK. Please select payment by credit/debit card. We can accept Mastercard, Visa and American Express. You will be charged in GBP (British Pounds) and the amount will be converted to your local currency by your card provider. Fees may apply, check with your card provider for details.
Please do not select "Gift Aid" unless you are a UK taxpayer.
Please email support@goitstock.org.uk if you have any problems making your payment or if you want to make a larger donation by international bank transfer.
Please note that if we are unsuccessful in buying the wood, and you chose a crowdfunding/restricted donation, we will refund donations to a UK bank account. If you want to make a larger donation, please contact us for more information and possible alternative arrangements.
We reserve the right to reject donations from certain countries/donors in rare circumstances, at the discretion of our trustees.
Please email support@goitstock.org.uk with details of the money you have collected and we'll work out the best way for you to get it to us.
Please email support@goitstock.org.uk with details of your plans. We can provide you with posters, leaflets etc if you need them to support your activity, and we'd like to make sure that all fundraising done in our name is done in line with charity rules. We will agree with you how you will collect the money and get it to us. If applicable, we can set up an online donation link/sponsorship form specifically for your event so we can keep track of how much money you raise.
