Over the next two weekends, we're going to be busy, out and about at local events:
Harden Childrens Gala, tomorrow (Saturday 21 June), Harden park 2-4.30pm
Bingley Creates Market, Saturday 28 June, Bingley Market Square, 9am-2pm
Wilsden Gala, Sunday 29 June, Wilsden Cricket Club from 12:30pm
We'll have a stall with:
Badge making - make your own badge or buy one of ours
Nature booklets - Amy has produced a wonderful booklet featuring some of the plants, animals and trees that you can find at Goit Stock Wood, containing interesting facts (and colouring in!)
Send a coin down Goit Stock Waterfall into our handmade collection box - win a prize if you correctly guess where it will land!
Information about our project - come and talk to us if you want to know more or get involved
At the Bingley Creates Market we're also hoping to sell some woodland-themed crafts. All items will be reasonably priced and any money we collect will support our work and hopefully help buy Goit Stock Wood for the community!
Look out for our stand with the Goit Stock falls banner!
Community Chest grant: We recently received a small grant of £100 from the Shipley Community Chest funding from Bradford Council, which we'll be putting towards publicity materials to help us with fundraising.
Grant applications: We're also working on applying for some considerably larger grants which could help us with our community purchase goal.
Charity application status: We're still waiting for the Charity Commission to approve our application to become a registered charity. We're crossing our fingers that it won't be long now.
Fundraising plans: We've been busy planning our fundraising activities so they are ready to go when the charity registration does come through! Please get in touch if you'd be willing to help with fundraising.
Social media help needed: Are you (or perhaps a younger person you know!) a social media guru? We'd love someone to help us promote the project on platforms we're too old to know anything about! ;-) Could be an ideal project for the summer holiday? Let us know if you or someone you know can help!
Business sponsorship: We're finalising our plans for a series of sponsorship packages for local (and not so local, why not!?) businesses. If you run a business - or know someone who does - that might be interested in sponsoring us, please register your interest - it would be good to get some feedback about the packages we're proposing.
Thank you for your support!
